My favorite K-12 teacher was Mr. Gardiner because he shared his passion for environmentalism through hands-on and inquiry based teaching. I remember doing a pond “study” in the small park next to my school, mapping the plant life in our playground, going on field trips and an overnight camping trip to learn about ecosystems and local geology. All of it was so engaging, so much fun.
