My favorite class was US History with Ms. Cooper. She introduced me to political cartoons, which I taped all over my binders. She made what we were learning relevant to our lives and prioritized developing our media literacy skills – something that still feels really important today. She made me feel like my voice mattered and taught me how important it is to actively participate in our democracy.
